Anton Lee Hopfauf Obituary (1949

Anton Lee Hopfauf, 70, of Waukegan, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2019 in his home. Anton was born on May 7, 1949 to Anton and Perpetua “Betty” (Hopfauf) Bullinger in Mandan, North Dakota. Following Perpetua death, he was adopted at the age of six by Leo & Josephine (Friesz) Hopfauf. Anton retired from the United States Army after serving 24 years as a Sergeant First Class. Anton is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Helen (Kim) Hopfauf; daughter Margaret (Dean) Korso and son David (Jennifer) Hopfauf; 11 grandchildren Mark, Megan, Yazmeen, Klarissa, Monica, Michelle, Jacob, Timothy, Michael, Miranda, and Matthew; siblings Robert (Paulette) Bullinger, and Gregory “Gregg”(Teresa) Bullinger, Cynthia “Cindy” (Harold) Rose, Thomas (Karen) Hopfauf, Edwin (Shelley) Hopfauf, and Loretta (Rocky) Hopfauf; many nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. Anton was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Gerald Bullinger. His visitation will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2019 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at The Memorial Chapel of Waukegan, 1521 Washington Street, Waukegan, Illinois, 60085. A second visitation will be held on Friday, September 20, 2019 beginning at 10:00 am with funeral service beginning at 11:00 am with Father James Merold officiating, at the funeral home.
