Amelia D. Camacho of Waukegan passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021 at the age of 71. She was born in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico October 15, 1949 to Miguel Diaz de Jesus and Natalia Vega Lopez. She was known to many as Mom or Emily. She was an avid gardener blessed with an extreme green thumb. When she was not outside you would find her inside working on some other crafts, cooking for her loved ones and decorating for the holidays. She was fond of her longtime pet Missy. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her loving husband Miguel A. Camacho Jr. Her children Alexander Camacho (Consuelo), Iliana Camacho-Diaz (Angel), Damari Camacho (Mario), Erik Camacho (Jessika); grandchildren Brittany Camacho, Corrina Aguirre Camacho (Jonathan), Manuel Viruet, Saul A Ruiz, Dimorrio Williams, Harmony Camacho, soon to come Melody Camacho; great grandchildren Jasiel, Jovan, Josiah, Jaeliana, Kai, Elijah, Leilaney, Janais; siblings Felicita de Jesus (Anacieto), Eulogia Sanchez (Jose), Carman Diaz (Juan), Maria Ruiz (Constantino), Julio Diaz (Imelda), Margarita Montes (Jose), Theresa Ruiz (Juan), Angela Diaz. She was also preceded in death her parents Natalia and Miguel; brothers Serafin Merced and Ramon Diaz. A visitation will be held January 20, 2021 from 4pm-8pm at The Memorial Chapel of Waukegan, 1521 Washington St. Waukegan, IL 60085. Her funeral service will be held Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 12:30pm at Holy Family Church, 450 Keller Ave. Waukegan, IL 60085. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park, 330 Hunt Club Rd. Libertyville, IL 60048.
